At Bradley in Illawong, we carried out a complete internal renovation that turned an enclosed, dated home into a bright, open-plan family residence. Taking out the internal barriers gave us one expansive kitchen, dining and living area, finished with Smartstone Statuario Grigio benchtops and cabinetry in Polytec Domino polyurethane and Polytec Florentine Walnut. A custom-made TV unit in the same Polytec finishes carries that palette through to the living area. Every bathroom was renovated as well, and a new Hume Doors front door finishes the transformation from the street.

Bradley’s brief called for a complete internal renovation, turning an enclosed, dated Illawong house into an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area for modern family life. We reworked the existing layout and opened up the living spaces, which lifted the natural light and made the whole floor plan far easier to live with day to day. The heart of that work was removing internal barriers to build an expansive open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. That layout encourages better interaction between family members, and it gives the home a spacious setting for entertaining as well as ordinary day-to-day living.
Smartstone Statuario Grigio benchtops anchor the kitchen at Bradley. It’s a marble-inspired stone, chosen for the durability and everyday practicality a busy family kitchen needs. Around it sits cabinetry in Polytec Domino polyurethane and Polytec Florentine Walnut, which balances crisp contemporary surfaces against warm timber texture. To carry that same palette into the rest of the living space, we built a custom-made TV unit from the identical Polytec finishes. It ties the kitchen and living area together, adds functional storage, and stands as a considered piece of joinery in its own right.
Every bathroom in the house was completely renovated with premium fixtures and finishes, for modern comfort and a timeless look. We treated them as one design rather than a set of separate rooms, so the finishes read consistently through the home and still stand up to everyday family use. Out at the entrance, a new Hume Doors front door now greets you, complementing the contemporary work carried out inside. Between the renovated bathrooms and that new entry, the Bradley transformation holds together from the street through to the last finished room inside.
Finished, Bradley reads as one home rather than a series of updated rooms, exactly what a full internal renovation should deliver when space planning, materials and joinery are decided together. We opened the house into one spacious open-plan layout, then carried Smartstone Statuario Grigio, Polytec Domino polyurethane and Polytec Florentine Walnut from the kitchen through to the custom-made joinery. The result is a timeless family home in Illawong, built for both functionality and enduring style, and it reflects Dura Group’s experience with full internal renovations and bespoke joinery. One material palette runs the whole way through, from the kitchen bench to the finishing details at the front door.

It sits alongside the other completed renovation projects in the Dura Group portfolio. If you’re weighing up your own home renovation, kitchen renovation or bathroom renovation in Illawong or the Sutherland Shire, you’ll see the same attention to material selection and considered design in Dura Group’s approach.
